Sachin Tendulkar Videos

119 Not Out vs England, Old Trafford 1990

A 17 year old Sachin Tendulkar scores his first test hundred and announces himself on the world stage. India find themselves 127 for 5 with only one recognised batsmen left and a hell of a lot of time left in the game. Tendulkar battles for nearly four hours, grimly but never dourly, and ends the day with 119. India lose only one more wicket, ending up with 343. With one more session, they might even have won. Still considered one of his best ever knocks to this day.

169 v South Africa, Cape Town, 1996-97

India find themselves in a desperate situation following South Africa’s commanding total of 529.  Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin get together at 58 for 5, and start spanking the bowling as if they were playing a club game in the park. They add 222 for the sixth wicket in less than two sessions, and Tendulkar has 26 boundaries in his score of 169 and Allan Donald just has to applaud.

155 v South Africa, Bloemfontein, 2001-02

India find themselves at 4 for 68 and in dire straits. Tendulkar has novice company at the crease and not much else to come. He takes 17 balls to score his first run, but 101 come off the next 97 deliveries. It isn’t the prettiest of Tendulkar’s Test tons, but it is one of the most savage, characterised by pulls and vicious upper-cuts. The South Africans have a plan for India, and Tendulkar makes a mockery of it. By the time Tendulkar’s innings ends, India are reasonably well placed, though they go on to lose the Test.

Sachin Tendulkar 193 vs England, Headingly 2002

India play the perfect test away from home with Dravid (148), Sachin (193), and Ganguly (128) all recording centuries. But it was Sachin’s knock of 193 that was instrumental.

Sachin Tendulkar 241 Not Out at Sydney 2004

The famous 241 not out when Sachin did not play a single shot through covers because he was getting out on the cover drive too often. An innings of great determination by the master.

Sachin Tendulkar 175 v Australia, Hyderabad, 2009-10

Sachin Tendulkar scores 175 runs off 141 balls including 19-FOURS and 6 big SIXES!
When the match started Tendulkar needed 7-runs to go past the 17,000 runs mark and he did that quite confidently. He almost single-handedly chases down a monster target of 350. But India end up folding despite the best efforts of the Little Master. A scintillating knock.

How fitting it was that the greatest ever one day international batsmen became the first man to ever record a double century in the 50 over version of the game.

Is Sachin Tendulkar the Best Batsman Ever?

Can We Declare Sachin the Best Batsman Ever and Place Him in Higher Esteem than Don Bradman?
We can certainly consider it…
“Better than Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting, the other two great players of my era. Better than Sir Viv Richards, Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border. And I would even say better than Sir Don Bradman himself.”
Nasser Hussain
