Chhavi Rajawat Biography



Chhavi Rajawat is an Indian politician. She is the sarpanch her village Soda, 60 km fromJaipur.

Early life

Chhavi Rajawat was born in Rajasthan. She is an alumni of Rishi Valley School, Bangalore,Lady Shri Ram College for Women (University of Delhi) and a management graduate from Indian Institute of Modern Management, Pune now known as Balaji Institute of Modern Management Pune

Career

She left her corporate job and city life to join politics. She became the Sarpanch (Head of a Village) of Soda, a village close to sixty kilometers form Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her grandfather Brig Raghubir Singh was the sarpanch of the village, from which she too was elected. She is credited as the youngest woman to become a Sarpanch. Times of India, the leading English newspaper in India credits her as the changing face of rural Rajashthan.
On 25th March, 2011, Chhavi Rajawat addressed delegates at the 11th Info-Poverty World Conference held at the United Nations. Chhavi Rajat was well-received at the meeting, followed by praises across the national news.
