Batting Master Sachin Tendulkar Named the Brand Ambassador for 2011 Cricket World Cup

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar now will make his presence in ICC World Cup 2011 as a brand ambassador of this event. He will be the second cricketer to take part in six World Cups after Pakistan’s Javed Miandad. Tendulkar said playing at home will make the event special for him.
2010 is one of the best periods of his career. In 2010 he scored first double hundred of one day format and improved his record by scoring 1543 runs in a calendar year with the help of 7 hundreds and 5 fifties in test cricket.
ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said: "We are very lucky to have such an extraordinary player as Sachin supporting our flagship event."

"I don't think any other player has inspired a nation like he has and the respect and affection he enjoys goes way beyond his native India. Many other athletes and sports fans around the globe admire what he consistently achieves and what he does for cricket," Lorgat added.
The legacy of Australian team who won the three consecutive World Cups has ended and India is performing well consistently. Now India has its best chance to win the 2011 World Cup as the event will be held on Indian soil co-hosted by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
"The fact that the 2011 event will be staged here in the sub-continent makes it even more special for me and I am keen to ensure we play well. As a team we would be doing everything we can to win the world cup on home soil," Tendulkar added.
Actually Sachin Tendulkar has his own class personality. By appointing him as brand ambassador for 2011 Cricket World Cup, ICC honored itself not Sachin Tendulkar. He is the brand ambassador of sportsmanship.
