Sushmita Sen’s Movies
1996 to 2000 Sushmita Sen’s first movie was Dastak in 1996 in which she is harassed by a stalker. It wasn’t a big success. Zor in 1997 was also an average performer. She made her debut the same year in a Tamil movie, Ratchagan, which did well.
In 1999, she landed roles in Sirf Tum, Hindustan Ki Kasam, and the comedy Biwi No.1. She played Rupali, an ambitious model in the latter, looking for a rich man. She won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. She put in an appearance in the movie Fiza (2000) in the song ‘Mehboob Mere’.
2001 to 2005 The year 2001 saw her in the song sequence ‘Shaka Laka Baby’ in Nayak and Madhalvan. She starred in Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai (2001) as Lara Oberoi with Rani Mukherji and Abhishek Bachchan. The movie failed at the box office.

While Samay: When Time Strikes, Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye, and Paisa Vasool in 2004 didn’t fare well, her saree-clad professor Chandni role in Main Hoon Na had the audience asking for more.
Kalpana Lajmi’s Chingari (2004) cast her as a prostitute who wreaks havoc when her lover is killed. She worked with Salman Khan again in David Dhawan’s Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya which was a hit.
2006 to 2009 She played the role of a rock star in Tanuja Chandra’s Zindaggi Rocks (2006) and Durga in Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007). Both movies struck an average note at the box office.
Karma, Confessions and Holi which also starred Naomi Campbell, Drena De Niro, Rati Agnihotri among others, was a flop. Do Not Disturb did a fair job at the box office.
