Berlusconi is “an angry, defeated and depressed man”, claims columnist

London, September 10 : After Silvio Berlusconi’s recent comments that “all Italians want to be like me,” a columnist has said that the premiere casts an impression of being an “angry, defeated and depressed man who is at odds with everyone”.
The columnist claimed Berlusconi has based his 15-year political career on image-making through his television and advertising empire, but the image is wearing thin – thanks to the controversies, reports The Times.
Berlusconi, who is often criticized for his alleged sexual escapades, had said that people “like me as I am,” and added, “I’m no saint.”
Meanwhile, some reports have suggested that many Italians regardless of his wealth and power take him as “one of us”.
Also, Giampaolo Tarantini, the Bari businessman who supplied women during the 72-year-old’s parties, has said repeatedly that Berlusconi was not aware that women had been paid to indulge him.
Berlusconi’s wife asked for a divorce in May this year.
