DHARAMSHALA: The Dalai Lama on Saturday rejected the exiled Tibetan parliament's request to reconsider his retirement proposal. The parliament discussed the proposal for a week. Majority of the members of exiled Tibetan assembly opposed Dalai Lama's proposal to step down as the political head.
The speaker, Penpa Tsering, said the resolution requesting the Dalai Lama was passed on Friday and given to him on Saturday. But he returned the proposal to the parliament, said Tsering.
