CHAVI RAJAWAT For some people, it would imply a step back. But for 30 year old Chhavi Rajawat, leaving behind the glamorous corporate world and the city arclights to head back to her village Soda in Rajasthan as its sarpanch has been a journey that has taken her back to her roots. A graduate from Delhi’s Lady Shriram College and an MBA from IIMM, Pune, Chhavi has worked with several corporate houses before she decided to join grassroots politics, following in the footsteps of her grandfather Raghubir Singh who served as a sarpanch for three consecutive terms. Today, Chhavi hopes to apply her management and corporate skills to run her village and ride it into the India of 2010. |
