Anne Hathaway is the New Catwoman..
Anne Hathaway has beaten competition from Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron and Kate Beckinsale to land the coveted role of comic book villain Catwoman in the new Batman movie.
Hathaway will be starring opposite Christian Bale's Batman and this time around, he will have to go up against the villain Bane played by Tom Hardy.
A slew of Hollywood actresses were clawing at the opportunity to play the feline femme fatale after movie bosses announced plans for The Dark Knight Rises - the follow-up to 2008 blockbuster The Dark Knight.
But it will be Hathaway who climbs into the sexy catsuit to bring back Catwoman for the next installment of the superhero franchise in a role previously played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992's Batman Returns, and again by Halle Berry in a 2004 spin-off of the Caped Crusader movies.
Filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who directed Hardy in Inception, says, "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies."

ANNE HATHAWAY was so determined to work with director TIM BURTON on Alice in Wonderland, she "would have played a mushroom." The actress turned down the role of Alice in the fantasy film because she was tired of playing "pretty girls" onscreen. She was delighted when Burton cast her as the White Queen, and admits she would have taken on any role to work with the legendary moviemaker. Hathaway says, "I worked only two weeks on the movie so I decided to approach each day with absolute and unflappable gratitude that I was there and not let any nerves get in my way. "I would have played a mushroom if Tim had asked me. I wouldn't have even needed to speak! It was just about getting some time to spend with Tim and getting to be a part of his world, but happily he asked me to play the White Queen and guided me through this interpretation that I think is kind of a little irreverent and a little left of centre."

Anne Hathaway got "unnecessarily" naked for her new movieLove and Other Drugs. The actress appears in several sex scenes with her co-star Jake Gyllenhaal in the film and has to show a lot of flesh, but one day on set she got nude in front of the crew for no reason. She said, "On the day I shot the scene where I have to remove my trench coat and be nude underneath I thought we were filming, but it turned out we were just rehearsing and I got unnecessarily naked in front of a lot of people. But hey, I just did my job." Although she seemed confident on set when she wasn't wearing any clothes, Anne insists she was full of butterflies inside. Speaking at the premiere of 'Love and Other Drugs' in New York City, she said, "I didn't let anyone know that I was nervous. It was just an internal thing." The 28-year-old screen beauty was recently praised by Jake for her natural "rhythm" during the lovemaking scenes. The 29-year-old actor - who also 'romped' with the actress in 'Brokeback Mountain' - said, "Annie and I had already had sex on film in 'Brokeback Mountain', so I wasn't too nervous. There's something about the way Annie and I both work which is inherently very musical. It's all about rhythm. There's a rhythm to writing, there's a rhythm to sports and there's a rhythm to sex." In the film, Jake plays pharmaceutical salesman Jamie Randall who ends up bedding Maggie Murdock, portrayed by Anne, when he tries to sell her a sex-enhancement
ANNE HATHAWAY has reportedly been receiving letters from her jailed ex-fiance, conman RAFFAELLO FOLLIERI, begging the actress to "wait" for him so they can reunite when he is released from prison. The Italian businessman was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars in December 2008 after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering. The Devil Wears Pradaactress dumped Follieri in June 2008, shortly before he was arrested by federal authorities and admitted to scamming more than $3.6 million (2.25 million) from investment and real estate firms. The star has since embarked on a relationship with actor Adam Shulman - but Follieri has been finding it hard to move on, and regularly writes to Hathaway begging for a second chance, according to Britain'sSunday Express. A source tells the publication, "Anne fears anything she says to him will lead to a fresh avalanche of mail. The letters are not only torturing Anne, they are putting pressure on her new relationship."
