Gauhar Khan

Gauhar Khan (born 23 August 1981 in Pune, Maharashtra) is an Indian model, VJ and actress, most known for her prominent role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year(2009). She is the sister of television actress Nigaar Z Khan. In 2010, she joined the cast of the first-ever Bollywood musical, Zangoora: The Gypsy Prince at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon, where she plays the female lead opposite Hussain Kuwajerwala, along with Kashmira Irani.

Gauhar Khan was born in Pune, Maharashtra. She is the sister of Indian television actress, Negar Z. Khan. She completed her schooling from Mount Carmel Convent High School Lullanagar, Pune

Career

Modelling

Gauhar Khan has acted in a couple of television ads, such as Bajaj Auto, Ford Ikon and Tanishq jewellery. She has also modeled for Manish Malhotra.

In 2002, she participated in Femina Miss India contest and came fourth.

Television

Gauhar Khan started off with appearances in two music videos, one of them being a music video by Bombay Vikings.^[2] She has anchored the film gossip show Page 3 on ZOOm Television.^[3] Recently she had participated in a popular celebrity dance show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaawhere she ended up as the runner up.

Films

Gauhar started her career with the 2003 film Miss India: The Mystery. She also did an item song for the 2004 Madhur Bhandarkar film Aan: Men at Work. She has played an important role in the 2009 Yash Raj film, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year starring Ranbir Kapoor, which was released in December 2009.
